Allegedly Violated Stay Permit, Tanjungbalai Karimun Immigration Office Held Three Foreigners to be Examined

 KARIMUN (27/3) - Class II Immigration Office Tanjungbalai Karimun held three Foreigners (WNA) at PT Saipem Indonesia Karimun Branch (SIKB) on Tuesday (27/3/2018).

 Two of the three foreigners are from India, with initials VN and SKT. While one other person comes from Australia with initials GDC.

"The three of them work in a company in Batam, VN serves as a mechanical advisor, SKT as a quality control advisor while GDC as a safety manager," explained the Head of Class II Tanjungbalai Karimun Immigration Office, Ryawanti Nurfatimah in a press conference on Wednesday / 3/2018).

 The three foreigners allegedly committed a violation of limited stay permits, because based on the ITAS issued by the Special Class I Immigration Office of Batam, Tanjungbalai Karimun is not listed as their working area."Based on the investigation, the three foreign workers are in PT Saipem to attend the meeting representing his company with PT Saipem," said Rya.

Daily Implementation (Plh) Head of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement of the Tanjungbalai Karimun Immigration Office, Kristian, added that the three foreigners were secured after receiving information about their work activities.

"We then sent the team to PT Saipem, who finally found them," said Kristian.

As for the meeting, which will be attended, the three foreigners will offer a catalogue of products belonging to the company where they work to PT Saipem.

"When they were secured, they hadn’t done their activity, but we still continue to find out," said Kristian.

If proven to be a violation, they will be subject to Article 75 paragraph (1) and Article 122 Sub-Article a of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration.
