"Currently, we have secured the person concerned and handed over from Bareskrim Polri (Police's Criminal Investigation Unit) on Friday (10/03/2023) to undergo further investigation by the Directorate of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement of the Directorate General of Immigration in Jakarta," he said.
The foreign man is known to have used a fraudulent passport of Latvian nationality and lives in Bali to deceive officers. After searching through the data in the Immigration Management Information System (SIMKIM), it turned out that the address data in question was fake, and the sponsor's address was also wrong.
"Through cooperation between agencies, we managed to get the foreigner, and we immediately detained and developed an investigation by the National Police's Criminal Investigation Team," said Silmy.
In the period January - February 2023, Immigration carried out 259 Immigration Administrative Actions (TAK) for a total of 630 foreigners. Meanwhile, in the first week of March 2023, Immigration imposed TAK on 24 foreigners.
