To Support the Business Meeting Forum Phase VI, Immigration Organizes "Paspor Merdeka" Service at JiExpo

JAKARTA – The Phase VI Business Meeting is expected to have a positive impact on the nation's economy, which will eventually make Indonesia an advanced and independent nation. This was conveyed by the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, Yasonna H. Laoly, when giving a keynote speech at the opening of the Phase VI Business Meeting, at JIExpo Jakarta, Thursday (03/08/2023). Yasonna also explained that the government continues to increase the priority of using domestic products to boost national economic growth and support industrial competitiveness in the country. Specifically, Yasonna explained the commitment of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) in supporting the “Proud of Indonesian Product” Movement as instructed by President Joko Widodo. "Kemenkumham itself consistently strives to support the progress of the national economy, one of which is by increasing the use of Domestic Products," said Yasonna. In the Phase IV Business Meeting forum, Kemenkumham presented a number of public services and an exhibition of products from correctional inmates. Among them are the Merdeka Paspor Service, the Inmate Products Exhibition, and the Coaching Clinic on Intellectual Property, Legal Administrative Affairs, and Human Rights. "We provide 3,000 quotas for passport application in three days. Applicants must make an advance reservation through the M-Passport Application before coming here," explained Yasonna. Passport applicants coming to this event will be given tickets for queueing, verifying the required documents, and recording biometric data such as photos and fingerprints. Meanwhile, payments can be made at banks or online banking, post offices, Indomaret, and marketplaces. The Phase IV Business Meeting is a collaborative activity between Kemenkumham, Ministry of Finance, the Institute of Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy (LKPP), and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), which is integrated with the Indonesia Catalogue Expo and Forum (ICEF). The forum, which lasted for three days from Thursday (3/8/2023) to Saturday (5/8/2023), was an implementation of Presidential Instruction Number 2 of 2022 on Acceleration of Product Use Intensification for Domestic, Micro Enterprise, Small Enterprise and Cooperative Products to SupportProud of Indonesian Products” National Movement for Government Procurement of Goods/Services.
